Long running improv doom/sludge/noise rock pranksters, Lovely Wife are myself and Joe Garrick (Disciplinary, Loud Mouth) on vocals and bass respectively, with a varied cast of drummers and extras, more recently settling on Rob Woodcock (Disciplinary, Marzuuran, Tide Of Iron et al) on regular drum duties.

Sets are a solid block of improvised riffage and miscellaneous mayhem, now pretty regularly including bugle and/or trumpet on my part and occasional contact mic’d exercise ball and homemade bass on Joe’s. There’s a definite lean toward the absurd, but this provides plenty of opportunity to try new techniques and sounds out. Previously we’ve gone up to double drums, got trumpet players and additional guitarists in and I did a set from in a wheelie bin once.
